Duke : Losses have come in bunches for the Blue Devils this season, and they need a win to avoid a third three-game losing streak in the ACC.

This team just hasn't been great in late-game situations, and that was been especially crushing in back-to-back overtime losses to Louisville and Georgia Tech over the past week. One factor in those losses was leading scorer Matthew Hurt fouling out of both contests.

His exit with left in regulation against the Yellow Jackets was particularly painful, and the Blue Devils will need a full dose of Hurt in this game. He scored a season-low 7 points in the first meeting against UNC but has averaged His name is Walker Kessler, and he's a 7-foot-1 freshman who is starting to play up to his five-star prospect rating. After logging just two minutes in the first meeting, Kessler has been enjoying producing some encouraging results during more time on the floor.

Duke's five-star freshman 7-footer Mark Williams has been playing better as of late, too, and it will be fun to see Williams and Kessler on the floor at the same time. With Kessler now in the mix as well, the Tar Heels are absolutely massive. Front-line heft is not a strength for Duke, and Carolina's physicality should help it get a big win.

Prediction: North Carolina 80, Duke This will be the first time Shane Beamer has ever faced North Carolina, but there could be more opportunities to foster this rivalry moving forward as the two programs have another Charlotte-based game on the schedule for and a home-and-home for and I think North Carolina will win, but there is no way it's going to be easy if that's the case.

Each of the last two North Carolina-South Carolina games in Charlotte have been one-score affairs and the setting seems ripe to provide another similar result. North Carolina has been the better team when playing its best football, but the lack of consistency seeing the Tar Heels at that level leaves me thinking South Carolina can hang around in this game just long enough to cover the spread.
